Orson Scott Card Encourages LDS Families to Consider SVU

Last week in his Mormon Times column, award-winning author and Southern Virginia Distinguished Professor of English Orson Scott Card baited readers with this question:

“As a student sending out college entrance examinations or as a parent preparing to pay for college, what is the best school?”

This week he answered that question by describing the small classes, academic rigor, caring faculty and spiritually nourishing environment at Southern Virginia University.

“Is SVU for everyone?” he asked. “There wouldn’t be room for you all if it were. But it is the best choice in LDS education for many — and I urge all of you who are deciding where to apply for college to give serious consideration to Southern Virginia University.”
