Twenty-four of us embarked on a Travel Study adventure to explore art and music in New York City over fall break. We mused over the similarities and differences between Broadway’s “West Side Story” and the Metropolitan Opera’s “Aida.” We argued over the Picassos at the MoMA. We even dabbled in the ritzy shops along Fifth Avenue.

There are so many hiking trails nearby! The Appalachian Trail near Brown Mountain Creek is one I especially like. The other day a small group of us hiked in this beautifully-treed valley with a creek alongside the trail. When the path comes beside the creek, we find it more fun to hike in the creek.
