Video Premiere: The Genius of Small

As a thank you to our faithful (and growing) audience at scoop.svu.edu, we're giving you the first peek at our new videos. The primary audience for these six segments is prospective students, but we hope you all enjoy them.

It's impossible to convey everything about the university in just a few minutes, but we hope we were able to paint a rough picture with some broad brush strokes.

I miss that place. I loved it so much that I got 4 members of my home ward to enroll at SVU the semester after I graduated. One of them (my little sis) is in some of these videos. Great videos! They really captured everything that I loved about Southern Virginia Univeristy.

I am really impressed how the travel study program has expanded. There really are a lot of chances to get some great experiences overseas and in the US. I love that SVU offers trips over spring break, a whole semester, a month in the summer or a three day weekend. Brilliant!

How great! I loved SVU so much. I'm teaching now and was so excited when one of my students told me was flying out to Virginia to check it out. These videos have come a long way since the first Mac lab back in the late 90's. I'm so glad they've embraced the idea of keeping the school small. We don't want to ruin that beautiful area with a gigantic campus and tens of thousands of students.

I just spent a few minutes reviewing the new videos on SVU. They are wonderful! What an incredible collection of beautiful people with powerful messages! It really took me back there and made me miss that place so much. I feel like the experiences I was able to be a part of while attending school there, have shaped me into the person that I am today- and I couldn't be more grateful for that. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I'm currently working for as PA for a private company in California, I've been called to be the Relief Society President, I'm a private tutor, piano teacher and temple worker... my perspective, abilities, people skills, passions, ambitions, spirituality, friendships and achievements are incalculable. I often meditate on how it is that I've come so far and nothing stands more prominent in my mind than my time and education at SVU. The cream of the crop is there both in student and professor alike. I've stepped on many campuses since then and nothing comes close to the feeling that resides there and I'm still reaping the rewards. It was both challenging and encouraging. SVU has my heart and greatest recollection of fabulous days for it has indeed shaped me into the person I've become today! I HIGHLY recommend it and miss it!!!!
